The Barga Cathedral Charm pays homage to one of Tuscany's most fascinating and representative monuments. Made from 925 silver, it miniaturizes the famous Cathedral of San Cristoforo, a symbol of the city of Barga and a guardian of centuries of history, art, and traditions.

Located in the heart of the medieval village, the Cathedral dominates the landscape of the Serchio Valley and has always been a landmark for the community and for visitors discovering the authentic charm of Garfagnana.

This charm was created to transform a place rich in meaning into a piece of jewelry to wear every day, preserving the memory of Barga, one's roots, or a special moment experienced in one of Italy's most beautiful villages.

To preserve IL FORTE Charms, bracelets, and jewelry over time, avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, detergents, chlorine, and saltwater. A Charm dedicated to Barga

The most Scottish City in Italy

The 925 Sterling Silver Charm dedicated to Barga tells the story of one of the most fascinating and representative medieval towns in the middle Serchio Valley and Garfagnana, a place where history, landscape, and identity are uniquely intertwined.

The origins of Barga are ancient, but it was primarily during the Middle Ages that the village assumed the architectural character that still defines its historic center today: alleys, squares, ancient gates, and walls lead up to the Cathedral of San Cristoforo, which overlooks the town from above with the Apuan Alps in the background. Over the centuries, Barga has maintained a strong cultural identity, becoming one of the principal historic centers of the Serchio Valley.

However, Barga's history also extends beyond Italy's borders. Between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, numerous families from Barga left these lands in search of new opportunities, heading primarily to Scotland. Many settled in the Glasgow area and other Scottish cities, opening cafés, restaurants, ice cream parlors, and fish and chips shops, giving rise to an Italian-Scottish community deeply connected to its origins.

That emigration did not break the bond with Barga. Many families returned over the generations, while others continued to maintain a close connection to the home of their ancestors. It is precisely this history of departures, returns, and family ties that has led Barga to be known as "the most Scottish city in Italy." To this day, the relationship with Scotland remains part of the local culture and is celebrated through initiatives such as the Barga Scottish Festival and the traditional fish and chips festival.

The IL FORTE Jewelry Barga Charm was created to capture this history in a symbol to wear: the connection to a Tuscan village, the Serchio Valley, and Garfagnana, as well as to all those families who, despite living far away, have continued to recognize Barga as part of their roots.
